Code of Conduct

AGO works with a large number of suppliers in Europe and Asia. We feel a responsibility for the thousands of people who work with manufacturing our products. Since we don't have direct control over the production, we have developed directives for our suppliers, a Code of Conduct, that they have to sign. The code is based on the Childconvention of the United Nations and the convention of Human Rights and Work Conditions of the ILO.

The code of conduct consists of, among other things, demands on:

  • Work enviroment
  • Prohibition of child labour
  • Safety
  • Worker rights
  • Work hours and wages
  • Animal rights
  • We are aware of the difficulty in controlling that our suppliers follow the code. But we visit our larger suppliers regularly and co-operate with external auditors.

The golden rules of ethics at AGO

  • AGO strives to offer products with sustainable value over a longer period of time.
  • AGO does not accept mulesing, the operation performed on merino sheep in Australia and has thus decided to direct the purchasing towards suppliers who can guarantee mulesing-free merino wool.
  • For wooden products originating from countries with tropical rain forest AGO demands a certificate from the FSC, Forest Stewardship Council.
  • We strive to minimize packaging in order to lessen the environmental strain.
